Please be aware that whilst soot deposits on a gas fire are quite normal and to be expected, they will be more visable on a pebble, driftwood or light coloured fuel effect. It is reccomended that this fire should not be used as a sole source of heat rather as a secondary source in conjunction with central heating. Gazco standard remote control option allows the flame height to vary between high and low from your armchair once the pilot has been ignited manually.
